Things to Do in St. Croix

St. Croix is home to some amazing festivals. The largest festival on St Croix is the , named “Crucian Christmas Festival.” It is a multi-day celebration enjoyed from the last part of December into early January. Another “winter” festival favorite of the locals is the Agricultural and Food Fair held in mid-February.

Several times throughout the year there is a nighttime festival called Jump-Up in Christiansted and in Frederiksted there is a monthly event called Sunset Jazz where locals play music on the beach. Every year on the Saturday before Mardi Gras, there is a Mardi Croix parade and a dog parade through the North Shore.

The St Croix Food & Wine Experience is a series of fundraising events held in April every year. Celebrity and local chefs team up to create dishes at different venues across the island. These events celebrate local food, farms, restaurants as well as the locally made products available on the island from wine and rums to beers and spirits. Always a treat to attend.

For those who are fitness conscience there is the St Croix Half Ironman Triathlon. The Ironman event is held the first week of May each year and includes a 1.2 mile swim, a 56 mile bike ride and a 13.1 mile run. This triathlon is often nicknamed “Beauty and the Beast” as the cycling route includes a grueling ride up the extremely steep hill known as “The Beast.”
